It's hard to be too specific about these things as distributor and payment processor fees vary, as does the exchange rate, but in simple terms these are my goals for sales figures of Captain Disaster in: Death Has A Million Stomping Boots (talking full price sales here):
- 50 games sold will enable me to pay the last of my costs related to the game
- 300 games sold will enable me to cover all my costs associated with the game
- 150 games sold per week will probably be enough for me to go full-time dev, with the caveat that I need this to continue for several months, have a new game at least nearly ready to launch, and not get mauled by unfavourable exchange rate changes.
At the moment only the first goal is looking achievable by the end of February 2018 (and even that might be pushing it!), but hopefully when some more reviews come out sales will improve a bit.
Needless to say, any promotion done by any fans of the game on social media or whatever is greatly appreciated! :-)
